Teenage Sexting? Really? The world has certainly changed a great deal since either my wife or I were kids. We watch the news and heard about this phenomenon along with the world as sports superstars where caught doing it, Golf legend Tiger Woods got caught doing it and news story after news story warned of the problems involved with teens and teenage sexting. I have to be honest, I had no clue what sexting even was.
The story came home to us when my kids were over for dinner one Sunday. My 39 year old daughter was worried about her kids. She was afraid about what her 13 and 15 year old daughters were up to on there cell phones. Though she had broached the subject with them, the world is a scary place and a parent really doesn’t know anymore. As grandparents, we were concerned too.
It’s not like when I was a kid, or even when we raised our kids. Now a days when your teenager want to hide something and it has to do with technology it’s easy to get overwhelmed and have no idea where to turn to resolve the issue.
My daughter wanted to monitor her kids cell phones. Be able to know what text messages were being sent, who they called, where they were and what was going on. She trusted them, but wants to be sure. Both her and her husband were at a loss when it came to how to spy on a cell phone without their kids knowing. Just grabbing the phone did no good since texting (and of course it’s evil counter part sexting) can easily be erased and mom and dad are none the wiser.
That’s what started our search for a solution to finding out if our grand daughters were sexting and helping our kids keep them safe by knowing where and what they were doing.
